Water-based gravure printing uses a water-based ink, which significantly reduces the amount of VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) emissions.VOCs contribute to air pollution, and we aim to reduce that, and to control and maximize safety for a better working environment.

Although there is a huge merit of being eco-friendly, water-based gravure printing is known to have lower productivity and more technical difficulties compared to oil-based gravure printing.
This is the main reason why the printing industry leans towards using the latter.
However, through time and continued effort, our company, which achieved the environmental standard ISO 14001 ahead of the industry, has succeeded in achieving the same productivity level as oil-based gravure printing, and we have overcome the technical difficulties associated with water-based gravure printing, making it a much better process.
We will continuously strive to improve and spread our water-based gravure printing technology to ensure safety and the satisfaction for our customers.

Water-based gravure printing does not leave a residual odor, as it only contains water and alcohol for solvents.
Not only is it safe for the environment, it can also be safely used by any user.
Also the dots on the printing cylinders are smaller and more shallow, so the finely detailed usage of various colors can be beautifully recreated faithfully and consistently.

Eco packages①
In Japan, it is estimated that about 6 million tons of edible food is wasted each year. That is roughly 48 kg of food per person.
We aim to decrease this tremendous amount of food loss by focusing on the extension of food shelf life, and by achieving the high releasability in our packages that allows an easy removal of the contents without leaving any to be wasted with the packages.

We develop and offer various packagings with barrier material most suited for the wide range of needs for food packaging. By creating products that leverage the features of barrier material such as oxygen barrier and vapor barrier, we realize a package that keeps the food fresher for longer and contribute to the food waste reduction.

We develop and offer packages with release film and release coating depending on the contents. By applying high releasability to existing packaging materials, contents can be taken out easily, and it helps improving work efficiency, at food factories, and also contributes to the reduction of food waste.
Eco packages②
We propose and develop a new, thinner packaging film without compromizing its original functionality. By using less plastic in the packaging material, and making it more lightweight, we contribute to saving resources.

By reviewing excessive packaging and reducing the weight of film used for packaging materials (thinning and shrinking), we can not only reduce the amount of plastic used for packaging materials and the CO₂ emissions from disposal, but also improve work efficiency and economize the loading capacity during transportation.

By replacing paper cardboard and disposable styrofoam packaging with reusable plastic cardboard and tray materials, we can save resources.
Compared to paper made cardboards, plastic cardboards are more water-resistant and help reduce the occurrence of insects that feed on paper dust and paper.
This helps to maintain a clean manufacturing environment.
Replacing a bulky styrofoam with stackable trays is also a good solution for utilizing a limited space.

We obtained ISO 14001 certification ahead of our competitors.
We have been successfully installing water-based gravure printing instead of oil-based gravure printing although it is technically more demanding.
Through our design of environmentally friendly packages and various activities in business, we are aiming for the development of our customers and us, while contributing to the realization of a sustainable society.
